There are tens of millions of people around the world that experience the effects of being depressed throughout their lives. It’s important for you to become aware of the depression symptoms so that you can detect and prevent from further becoming depressed. Many people go through life having many depression symptoms arise but not realizing and treating them. Being depressed through not noticing your depression symptoms could harm many other aspects of your life. You will unknowingly be miserable and that will branch off to the people you come into daily contact with such as beloved family members, coworkers, and friends. The following list is symptoms that you should be keeping an eye out for.

1. Become aware of the depression symptoms you should be looking out for. Feeling upset with yourself, having a lack of hope, and feeling as if you are not worth anything in life are major red flags. Most people who are depressed will feel helpless and not know what to do with themselves. Not all of these feelings or depression symptoms may emerge for everyone; it depends on the severity of how depressed they are feeling.

2. The pattern or change in your sleeping schedule could be another one of the main depression symptoms. Half of the depressed population cannot sleep and have feelings of insomnia while the other half sleeps too much.

3. The changes in your sleeping schedule will most likely have an affect on your eating patterns as well. Simply by losing too much sleep you may have a rapid weight loss. These depression symptoms already incur that you are becoming increasingly depressed and need to seek treatment as soon as possible.

4. You can see people are depressed when they are not interested in anything and do not feel like participating in anything. Past activities that you have enjoyed are no longer appealing.

5. Depression symptoms show that when you look into the mirror you hate what you see. You are disappointed with yourself and feel as if you are a failure. You may begin to avoid looking in the mirror completely unless you absolutely need to.

6. When you are depressed you will feel uncontrollable urges and spouts of anger for no apparent reason. One of the main depression symptoms is having feelings of being resentful towards whatever the cause may be even if you don’t know exactly what that is.
If you don’t analyze and treat your depression symptoms you could have it grow into a bigger problem and end up losing a lot more than you are prepared for. Even if it is not for yourself you should become aware of the different depression symptoms so that you are able to recognize them in any of your close loved ones before it is too late. That way you will be able to help them early on when they are depressed. If any of the above depression symptoms are being felt by you or anyone around you it is critical that treatment is sought immediately.
